A Senior Session to Cherish: Amalia & Cate – A Bond of Sisterly Love

A Special Senior Session with Amalia and Cate

I first met this wonderful family when my son attended middle school with their eldest daughter. From the start, I admired their faith-filled bond from afar, so when I was asked to capture Amalia’s senior photos a couple of years ago, I was truly honored.

Our session was filled with laughter and light as we explored her high school campus, Academy of the Holy Names in South Tampa—the perfect backdrop to showcase her personality. With her guitar in hand, whether resting on her lap or slung over her shoulder, Amalia’s artistic soul shined. She was completely at ease, playing music on the grass and along the Bayshore, her easygoing nature radiating through every shot. One of my favorite moments was watching her mother admire her, the wind gently lifting Amalia’s hair as she became lost in her craft. These are the moments I live to capture.

So when I was asked to return and photograph her younger sister Cate’s senior session, my heart swelled.

Cate opted for a downtown Tampa adventure, bringing her radiant energy to the streets. She effortlessly floated through Sparkman Wharf, lighting up every spot—from vibrant street art to trolley tracks and charming doorways. As a singer and actress, she was completely in her element, comfortable and confident even in the bustling crowds. Capturing these moments with Cate and witnessing the love and pride in her mom’s eyes was pure joy.

Both of these sisters are not only stunning but also incredibly kind, intelligent, loving, and wildly talented. (And let’s not forget—they totally embrace my over-the-top hype-girl photography style!) Their personalities are beautifully unique, yet their sisterly bond is undeniable.

Here are some of my favorite moments from their senior sessions, taken two years apart.
